Plant hire shouldn't run on WhatsApp roulette.
South Africa's plant and equipment hire market is worth around R 8 billion a year — and most of it runs on phone calls, forwarded contact lists and "you know a guy who knows a guy". PlantLynk is the network underneath.
Why we built it
Two years of working in civils made the gap obvious. A contractor in Polokwane wastes a morning calling six numbers to find out who has a 12-ton excavator free for Friday. The owner in Bloem with two idle TLBs has no efficient way to tell anyone outside his usual five customers. That's not a market — that's friction.
What we're not
PlantLynk is not a brokerage. We don't sit between you and the owner taking 15%. The owner sets the rate, the contractor pays the owner, the machine shows up. We'll earn from optional extras — vetting, priority placement, and (in time) PlantLynk Cover.
